Quiet days remind me of the benefits of honoring the coming winter as a time of rest, contemplation and renewal. Winter is a nurturing season when Nature drops it foliage and displays a spaciousness that is vast and healing.
I see myself more clearly when I am quiet and when I breathe in the thin and crisp winter air. It’s an important time for me to refill my cup so I can emerge again later in the fullness of sharing my soul’s gifts with others. This is a lifelong vocation. We tend to think of “retirement” at a certain age, but we have a vocation beyond what we do in our day-to-day life. Our Soul has a purpose in the world that will not be complete until the end of our days. Now, more so than ever, the world needs people who carry light, faith and truth in their hearts – Healers and Teachers, Earth Elders, Wisdom Keepers, Spiritual Warriors, Bridge Builders, Peacemakers.
2024 is an important year. We aren’t certain what we might face on a global level, and we will also navigate a presidential election in our country. Think about making good use of this Spring to do whatever you need to do to strengthen and renew yourself on every level – body, mind, emotion, spirit.
Self-care on the surface feels like indulgence but when we look more deeply, we see the reflection of who we truly are. Quiet, silence and solitude are the earthly expressions that bring up these ancient memories.
Indulge in daily self-care, quiet, prayer, devotions, chanting, journaling, nourishing food, stretching, yoga, walking, art, and music. Let’s be refreshed and ready with a full cup.
