DISCERNMENT

My path is one of connecting with truth through my heart. I did not consciously choose this path, it chose me. Let me explain.

I was born in Japan and adopted at one year old. Since toddler stage, I have had to navigate significant loss and I needed to learn how to adjust to a new family and a new culture. I was adopted into a home that was chaotic with emotional, mental, and physical abuse. I recognized very early that when I felt unsure or unsafe, I would get very still. I would observe and listen. I would feel something in my heart area and would receive inner guidance on what I needed to do. When chaos broke out, I would get quiet and feel in my heart what was happening. Many times I would sense the emotional chaos around me and my heart would guide me in what to do to remain safe.

How? The heart speaks a universal language that we can all learn. It speaks in intuition, symbols, knowing, clairvoyance, synchronicities, physical chills and more.  This is not a gut feeling that comes from the emotions. It is a higher vibration of sensing and feeling that is heart-felt.

Through all of these years, I have gained certainty that the heart of each person is the most valuable spiritual resource we have. Through it passes the inspiration and desire for everything that is destined to bring us joy and happiness in life and it guides us along our journey to accomplish what we hold in our hearts. The path of the heart is the most direct way.

Many of us know so clearly what we long for. We hold it in our hearts, protecting it there and we look for validation of its coming.

We usually do not know how it will unfold; therefore, discernment is key, and it needs to be strengthened in us to remain on course to achieve our dreams. Discernment is not making some things good and other things bad. It is not judgement. It is a choice we make to do what is in sync with our dreams. It means choosing the mindset, people, places, and actions that are in alignment with our hearts desire. It can sometimes mean letting go of what is comfortable because in our heart we know that in order to grow, we are meant to move on. When we lack discernment or it is not strong, we can get lost in a sea of distractions and we lose our center. We are pulled in random ways according to the emotional or mental needs of the day. Many times, we feel frustrated because we don’t seem to be getting anywhere with our goals, but we haven’t made the connection to the importance of our choices in thought, word and actions as the fuel toward what we want and need.

Strengthening our discernment will increase our ability to remain faithful to what we truly desire. Discernment is the truth that cuts through the confusion. When we are planting a garden, we have to stay focused, do what is needed and we will reap the harvest.

Affirmation: My heart’s inspiration and desires are my compass because I am unique, and my path is unique. I forgive myself for the times I have not chosen to do what supports my dreams. I intend to strengthen my ability to discern what is in alignment with what I truly want. I admit this is a gradual process and I will be diligent but also patient with myself. I intend to let go where needed and I will move toward what strengthens me on every level. My heart-felt gratitude confirms for me that I am heart-aligned.
