FEELING LIKE WE DON'T FIT IN

For much of my life I have felt like I didn’t fit in, and I felt outside of the norm. I felt like I did not understand the values of my family, my society, my religion, and at times, my group of friends. I spent much of my childhood and teenage years by myself and could only find comfort and safety in the forest near my home.


In hindsight, I have realized that my sense of not fitting in has helped me to develop my way of being in the world. I longed to embody my truth, my values, and to find people that I could relate to.  This has been an important part of my path. I have continually evaluated what I saw externally in society and evaluated it against my own desires, values, and dreams. Finding the courage to embody my truth has helped me realize that I am here to be uniquely me in order to help transform and change this world. It has taken me decades and much sorrow to learn to love, to be gentle but honest with others, and to feel compassion. All the while, my heart has guided me on this journey to fulfill my soul’s purpose. I am here to honor what really matters to me. I am here to help create a culture with higher values. I am here to turn away from the social conditioning that keeps me competitive, limited and afraid. I am here to fulfill my dreams and to experience joy.


If you have felt like you don’t fit in, consider that you too are here to create change. It comes through your own healing and your story of transformation. You deserve our gratitude for all that you have endured to fulfill your purpose. It has not been easy, but you are inspiring!


 

Meditation to Heal and Strengthen

Sit quietly and close your eyes. Breathe in deeply a few times to clear stress and to settle the mind.


Keep your breath slow and natural. Breathe into your heart area and sense or see a soft light building within the heart. 


Feel the depth and vastness within your heart as you gently breathe in. Notice a spaciousness within as if you are entering another world. Allow yourself to rest in this soft light and energy. Allow yourself to be bathed in this space and feel peace. Stay as long as you like.


Take a deep breath when ready and open your eyes. Feel the deep peace and sense of gratitude for all that you are and all that you are accomplishing with your life. ❤️
